It's not all roses.

I was just telling a good friend:

"So many of the writers on the DoctorWives blog seem have an 'all roses' experience and that just hasn't been my experience. It's been a hard, lonely, expensive, humbling, and trying experience. I also have a VERY hard time seeing a light at the end of the tunnel. Some people can ride on knowing its all going to be worth it one day, but I live in the now and have a hard time imagining the fruitful future.

I think that there are others whom have not had the "all roses" experience as well, so I post my frustrations along with my victories. It's no fun to struggle alone! That's why I've tried to be real and share my real thoughts and feelings candidly. I will think twice before doing it again."

  1. Sorry I'm commenting all over your blog but I'm catching up. I agree that some blogs are covered in rose colored glass, but I absolutely appreciate people who are real. Don't ever think about editing yourself when commenting on my blog :0) I'm not out there looking for a reason to be offended. I swear...I'll leave your blog alone now.

  2. Being real is so much better. Most of the posts on Lives of Doctor's Wives I don't even read because they are obviously fake or just trying to people please.

  3. Ummmm... my blog has been a huge big fat WHINE FEST lately... And I always feel guilty about it because maybe I should be trying to be more positive? Maybe I should be liking medicine a bit more? Maybe I should be just SO excited to be a doctors girlfriend (maybe/hopefully wife) one day! But I struggle (HUGELY) to see the light at the end of the tunnel also. And I really appreciate your honesty, and the good, and the bad... keep it up please!! (and I am with Keely... commenting like a crazy lady!)
